HHoW is an exclusive global partnership of up market hotels, resorts and retreats offering holistic health in luxury surroundings. The company’s business concept stems from the belief that human beings as a whole are a combination of body, mind and soul seeking harmonization. Properties selected to be HHoW partners feature a holistic spa and wellbeing concept and a range of healing qualities that effectively provide guests with improved health and lifestyle.
Membership is by invitation only.

Location
HHoW has partners across all five continents. A common characteristic of all partners is an amazing location and harmony with natural surroundings. Most partners have direct access to ocean or sea; only one HHoW partner is located in a city.

History
Healing Hotels of the World was founded in 2006 by tourism experts Anne Biging and Dr. Elisabeth Ixmeier. After twenty years experience in international tourism and destination marketing, the founders realized early that the normal spa industry, with focus on beauty treatments and relaxation, had reached its peak and that the industry was ready for further development.
Properties selected to be HHoW partners focus on holistic health and wellbeing, which goes beyond beauty treatments and relaxation and incorporates the entire human being. “In today’s saturated material world, health is one of the most precious assets we have. Most people face a lot of stress in their everyday life and want to compensate for this by pursuing health and wellbeing in their free time”, says Anne Biging, referring to the idea behind HHoW.
At the present time, Healing Hotels of the World represents 60 properties.

Philosophy
The company requires that guests of a Healing Hotel gain significant health and lifestyle advantages from their stay at one of the partner properties. Travelers experience an individual program that is specially designed according to their personal needs. HHoW partner offer holistic care of body, mind and soul in a luxurious environment. Further, HHoW offers personal consultancy for guests to help them to find the hotel or resort that fits their personal needs best.

Selection Criteria
In order to be accepted into the exclusive portfolio of HHoW, partners have to fulfill strict criteria. A team of experts analyze the applicability of potential partners by means of an individual constructed questionnaire. This guarantees that the concept of holistic health is a central theme in all partner hotels. The criteria include an overall atmosphere of wellbeing, conscious service, friendliness of the staff, the holistic health program, the spa, offerings such as yoga, meditation, nutritional consulting and fitness checkups, top quality and healthy cuisine, usage of ecological materials, integration of the local culture, as well as the willingness of the hotelier to explore new opportunities.
HHoW offers every partner staff trainings about holistic health, the “Training of Excellence”. Once a year every partner undergoes quality testing.

Marketing Strategy
In addition to a united internet presence, marketing offices in Europe, USA, Asia and Australia, international public relations, as well as event and road shows, HHoW offers its partners workshops and trainings. Those benefits are borne by the annual membership fee or can be booked separately.
Healing Hotels of the World is the first global marketing platform that embraces the top segment of the spa and wellbeing industry. Through marketing and public relations strategies, HHoW improves the awareness level of this industry. Hotels that are interested in membership, but are not able to meet the high standard criteria, can use the HHoW consultancy division to achieve the right level for qualification.

Holistic Concept
All HHoW partners embrace a holistic spa and health concept. Holistic wellness goes beyond pampering: holistic spas create wellbeing and educate their guests about their constitution and health. In order to do so, personal consultancy is a must. Treatments are specially designed for the guests’ individual needs to obtain the most benefit. At the point of departure, guests should be thoroughly informed about different aspects of their health and should be able to use this knowledge at home for a better lifestyle. The “Training of Excellence” intends to prepare the entire personnel of a HHoW partner for the holistic health principles.

Spa
All partners offer a spacious spa area with inside and outside pool, Jacuzzi and sauna as well as beauty, massage and fitness facilities. All treatments are in line with holistic health and designed for the guests personal needs. Most HHoW hotels and resorts also offer medical treatments. HHoW partners offer spa and beauty products without synthetic additives and preservatives. Many HHoW partners have already won international wellness concepts.  prizes  and  awards for  their spa and  Cuisine All HHoW  partners  offer  special  menus  such  as  vegetarian,  low­calorie  or ayurvedic. Local dishes and specialties take center stage, preferably prepared with local and particularly organic products. Some partners even produce fruit, vegetables, herbs, and eggs on their own land. All dishes are prepared with great care in a very healthy way.

Fitness
Every partner offers a modern and perfectly equipped fitness center and programs such as Yoga, Tai­Chi, Breath­Walk, Qi Gong, Shiatsu, Meditation, Pilates and Aqua Training. Some hotels also offer outdoor sports possibilities, like trekking, jogging, cycling, horseback riding, climbing, fishing, squash, golf, water rafting or skiing.

Seminars for Guests
Through  a  well­developed  international  network,  HHoW  is  able  to  provide partners  with  lecturers  addressing  various  health  and  wellness  topics.  These  lecturers  are  carefully selected by HHoW and  are  leaders in their fields. Thus, guests of HHoW hotels and resorts can experience experts in theory and practice on site. Topics can be: alternative medicine, Ayurveda, Tai Chi, Yoga, Mediation, graceful aging programs, leadership coaching or personal life coaching.

Architecture
The architecture of a HHoW partner is inspired by the local culture and embedded in the landscape. The majority of partner properties can be found in national parks or spacious private gardens and offer breathtaking views of the countryside. The interior is individually designed and influenced by country­specific fabrics, colors and materials. HHoW sets high value on the quality of the interior as well as on its environmental sustainability. Arts are a significant feature within quite a few partner hotels.

Dorissima
The products of Doris Brugger fit perfectly into the holistic concept of HHoW. The Dorissima d1­d7 Spa Line consists of seven different body and massage oils, beauty packs, herbal teas and organic essential oils. The Spa Line is extended by seven different Dorissima Signature Treatments d1­d7. Each signature treatment is aligned to one of the seven chakras – the energy centers of the body – and consists of a specific mental theme, specific objects, special sounds, smells, light and colours that support the effect. Of course, all ingredients are natural products.

Guests also can use the hotel search application in order to find their right hotel or resort. The application does not only allow to search by destination, but further to search for specific treatment options and holistic health services such as Detox, TCM, Ayurveda, Burn Out and many more. At present, the website is available in English and German. Further languages will follow.
