MESASTILA, Indonesia

from USD 350.-

In a world where pollution, noise, crowds, unhealthy diets and stress are the norm; MesaStila offers an escape – indeed a true “sanctuary” from the noxious daily grind. Losari is an eclectic mix of ancient and modern; yet the essence of the retreat is defined through the calming and powerful environment in which it sits – encircled by eight magnificent volcanoes and set within fifty-five acres of gardens, coffee plantation and surrounded by dense tropical jungle.

The fundamental elements of the MesaStila are offered through the stillness of the lush vegetation, the power of the incredible views and the familiar warmth from the people that live in nearby villages.

MesaStila is nine hundred meters above the plains of Central Java and has been composed as a labor-of-love by its various owners over the years; supporting over one-hundred and eighty years of habitation in many forms – from plantation owners to resort guests. The property includes such relics as a Colonial-era railway station from the 1860’s, the prior residence of a Javanese Prince and the original plantation owner’s house from 1828; all surrounded by coffee trees that have been grafted and grown from the original Robusta-Arabica plants nearly two hundred years ago. MesaStila is a historical, cultural and wellbeing masterpiece!

Add to this: passionate staff; the healing essence of two of Asia’s most authentic and unique Hammams; genuine Hammam treatments; a variety of exceptional wellbeing offerings; Spa treatments that range from intense scrubs and cleanses, to deeply relaxing body treatments; healthy-cooking classes and physical activities that incorporate aspects such as a jungle gym and Pencak Silat classes, Indonesia’s own form of martial arts (the literal translation means “to prevent violence” and is an excellent form for movement and an increased awareness.).

MesaStila offers a distinct Javanese flavor – with Pencak Silat; Java-coffee scrubs; local Javanese food with a healthy twist; an immersion to the healthy-healing garden of MesaStila and the service of skilled local practitioners who offer traditional healing services: from Jamu to Javanese massage. Services that all support a stay of wellness.

We believe that whatever form it takes, to care for your wellbeing now means fewer health problems in the future, less time lost to illness, a more vibrant life, greater energy and an all round better you. Our aim is to create a place of sustainable wellness that becomes an attitude and a culture – where the environment “offers” and the people “have faith”.
